ACE at Western Psychological Association, 2014!

For the third year in a row, ACE attended the annual Western Psychological Association Conference! This year it was held at the Marriott in Portland, Oregon, underneath mercurial clouds that provided both sunny weather and pouring showers. Nevertheless, the research went on, where Dr. Chin-Newman and Stacy presented the latest data from the Transfer Student Project. Analyzing the follow-up data, they presented a poster that outlined the various ways in which participants' family, friends, and campus staff members provided them with support both during the transfer process and after the first quarter. The response from fellow conference attendees was positive, with good dialogue and many students attendees reporting similar forms of support during their own adjustments both as native and transfer students.
