Livier Ayon

Livier Ayon is a Research Associate of the ACE Lab, and Director of AbrazoPaz, an arts-based violence prevention program for adolescents in Mexico.

Livier graduated from California State University, East Bay with her BA in Human Development in 2014. During her studies, she became involved in working with groups teaching yoga, creative movement, and peace education. For her senior thesis, she conducted applied research in Mexico with the purpose of raising social awareness among adolescents using cooperative play. This became a foundation for her current Program in Violence Prevention, AbrazoPaz ("Embracing Peace"). Her program combines expressive arts, mindfulness, cooperative play, as well as communication skills using a diverse, interactive, and experiential methodology.

Livier recently earned her Master’s in Applied Social Psychology from the University of Sussex, as a Chevening Scholar supported by the UK government.  She plans to continue her work with groups, especially youth, and to facilitate social change through leadership and activism.
