Eric Kupers

 

Eric Kupers is the Director of Bandelion and Co-Artistic Director of Dandelion Dancetheater.  He is Professor of Dance at California State University, East Bay, where he directs the Inclusive Interdisciplinary Ensemble.  Eric danced in the companies of Margaret Jenkins and Della Davidson, and after shifting more to focus on directing/choreography than dancing, he discovered a passion for making music.

Sara Smith

 

Sara A. Smith received her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Oxford, followed by postdoctoral research in the Brain Experience Education Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of South Florida. Her research interests include bilingual language development, cognitive implications of bilingualism, developmental disabilities that impact language, and skills that contribute to reading success.

 

 

 

 

Alina Engelman

 

Dr. Alina Engelman is Associate Professor of Public Health at California State University, East Bay and on the Community Health Commission for the City of Berkeley. She received her Doctor of Public Health degree (DrPH) at UC Berkeley, her MPH in Global Health at Yale and her BA at Brown.

 

Dr. Engelman is an Affiliated Researcher at UC Berkeley's Health Research for Action with a focus on health initiatives for underserved populations, including the deaf and hard of hearing. Her areas of interest include global health, disability studies, emergency preparedness communication, health literacy, program evaluation, and HIV/AIDS.

 

 

 

 

Patricia Drew

 

Patricia Drew is Professor of Human Development and Women’s Studies at California State University, East Bay. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University Of California, Santa Barbara in 2008. Her research examines health and medicalization, gender, stigma, and sociocultural influences on of self-concept and identity.

Erin Woodhead

 

Dr. Erin Woodhead is Associate Professor of Psychology at San Jose State University. She is also a licensed psychologist. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from West Virginia University. She completed a clinical internship and clinical postdoctoral fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She also completed a research postdoctoral fellowship at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in the Geriatric, Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC).
 

Dr. Woodhead's primary clinical and research interests are in working with older adults. She is specifically interested in the use of mental health services among older adults and age-related differences in trajectories of mental health and substance use disorders. Because of her background in clinical psychology, Dr. Woodhead is also interested in the experiences of college students with mental health conditions, and specifically their experiences with disclosing these conditions to faculty, staff, and other students.
